Canvas Making for AP

This is a documentary on how we did our Canvas Mural in AP.
MATERIALS:
Canvass
White Paint
Poster paints
Needle and Strings
Rod
Paintbrush

METHOD:
Step 1:
If your canvas is too thin, it is recomended to paint it with white paint first. Once it's dry, sew the edges (top and bottom) one inch.
Step 2:
Once you're done, think of the theme of your painting and start drafting on the canvas.
Step 3:
Now, put colors and life to it! Use different colors of poster paints and brushes and start decorating.

Step 4:
Put the rod into place (on the top and the bottom. That's why we sew the canvas) and hung it to a wall.

PERSONAL EXPERIENCES WITH THE LEARNING SOCIETY
When I was young, I never aced art. When I was elected as the leader of a group in AP for a 'canvas-mural making' I was unsure I'm of some help.
My artist is Agarpao and he took the responsibility of drawing the draft on the canvas. Here's a quick intro by the way: We bought a thin canvass so I had to buy a white paint and put it on the canvas to make it thicker and to avoid the paint from spreading on the canvas.
So, we had this theme of "Water as a source of life" and we act on the project. You can see the half-finished paint here.

We had so much fun doing the project and I was happy because I was able to make everyone work, giving them the freedom to paint. After all, it's better to do it with your groupmates than to take all the responsibilities and throw back the accusations to them if it you can't do it.

Life verse

Dear Readers,

I just want to share my Life Verse. My life verse is in Luke 22:26, "But it is not this way with you, but the one who is the greatest among you must become like the youngest, and the leader like the servant. In my experience in my early age, I was the leader in our intramural  and I was the youngest player in Basketball because of my Good leadership, we got the last place even though we did not get the championship, I am still happy. For me, this is the meaning of y verse. I think this is beneficial to my future, because when the time comes that I am gonna be a father, I will teach my son/daughter on how to be a good leader. Also do not be shy in sharing your Life verse plan because it will help you understand the meaning of your life. Thanks for reading! :)

Life Verse: Living with God's Words

"And this small and temporary trouble we suffer will bring us a tremendous and eternal glory, much greater than the trouble. For we fix our attention, not on the things that are seen, but on things that are unseen. What can be seen lasts only for a time, but what cannot be seen lasts forever."
Corinthians 4; 17-18

Everyone of us has his or her own life verse. A verse, thought, or idea from the bible that we hold on to or we use to guide us in our daily lives. This is my life verse.
This helped me in my training (COCC training). Those were the tough times, I admit. Everyday was hard enough to make me think why in the world had I joined this camaraderie. But I survived and I am very proud. I had to sacrifice my being a choir member just so I could train. It wasn't easy. I wasn't used to it. Everytime I went to church, I felt that God was somehow distant to me. I know why. i had to sacrifice Him so I could be an officer and up until now I'm still guilty. But I had to let it go. What I did was, hold on to His words, do the right thing and when everything is finally done, I'll go back to Him and repent for it. Right now, I'm still in the process of coming back to the Lord and somehow I think He has forgiven me.
I understand this verse in the thought that we should think of problems as challenges. If we do face a challenge, we should be optimistic and thankful since it's like sharing Christ's sufferings. Our frustrations from these problems are temporary. We should not be contained to this world because this world is a big diversion from living a life with God.
I hope more people would know this message because it's the truth.
Remember: God will never give us problems that we couldn't handle. If He does, He will give us a way out and back to Him. He will never leave us there. He'll always save us.

Retreat Back to God

First of all, what is Retreat anyway? It meant "withdrawing from enemy forces as a result of their superior power of after a defeat" (The New Oxford American Dictionary). in our school, Retreat meant going out in a peaceful place to meet God and have a special time to appreciate His gifts trough nature and bonding with others as we learn His words and His commandments.
The theme of our Retreat was "Live a Life of Love". Since this is my first Retreat, I will share my thoughts and experiences from this event.
Our venue was at the Capuchin Retreat Center in Batangas and the first thing we did was eat our quick lunch in one of dozens of nipa huts scattered around the place. We took pictures while the other sections played games in the grass. Everything was priceless; Students laughing as they ran from the 'taya', couples having fun talking to each other, us taking pictures and everyone just loved nature that very moment.
We had to  move in our rooms after, and I 'dormed' with Guane and Shiecka. It was a very good experience-staying in a new room-and it was surprisingly cozy. We had these activities and when we had our free time, we had an open forum (Me, Chenny, Arielle, Andy, Alannie and Kate). We had our next meal, dinner and breakfast in the "Mess Hall". It was huge and kind of reminded me of Hogwarts but this Hall was circle and it has small rectangle tables around. All of the foods were good and in fact, we're allowed to make coffee which is something I did not expect.
In the activities we had, I learned that to experience God's best to the fullest, I should keep myself pure, seek God and Preserve. Then we talked about true love. We should have true Commitment controlled by Christ and we shouldn't rush with love because love waits. it reminded me of a friend who was so thankful because she waited for love and now she has the best partner around.
We shared our problems with each other (by section) and each of us understood that all people have their own cross that they carry and none of us are different from each other. All we need to do is to understand because it's a way to help others too.
I wish I could experience this kind of Retreat in college because it's a very wonderful idea to get connected with God and nature again.
I thank Trinity for letting me be a part of this event and I hope they'll keep it up.

Up Close and Personal With God for 10 years

In my family, worshiping is a very normal scene. I had been to different INC (Iglesia Ni Cristo) churches since i was four and from that day, I never stopped attending services (unless I'm sick or there's a very important event in school).

I'm currently a choir member, another reason why I can't miss a single service in my life. The last lesson we had (Oct. 5, 2013/Saturday) was about why is the INC called as the "Nation of God". I discovered that the INC was declared as a church in July 24, 1914 and surprisingly, it was the day World War II broke out. I discovered God's goodness to Israel when they traveled in the desert of Egypt. In Romans 16:16, the name of our church was written.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the head of the church/nation so obviously, His body/church should be called as Church of Christ. It's the English translation of INC. With these things in my mind, I became more faithful in my church and I kind of felt more secure.
Every time I go to church, I feel His presence right there, blowing to my face (Not the air conditioner. If you're thinking of some foreign wind blowing to my face but I feel it in my body after ten seconds I think and I'm still referring to the air conditioner). All of us are sinners, and I'm not cleaning my slate or what they say, "Hugas kamay" whenever I pray to God. I admit it, forgive myself and the rest follows. I'm still in the process of purifying my soul by trying to pay for the sins I've done in the sense I help people, give shares of my money to God, being kind to everyone and trying not to curse. I admit it. And I had forgiven myself. So, the rest follows.
I thank God for all of the things, good, bad, happy, sad etc. because I know He has a plan.
Let's never forget God because He didn't forgot to wake us up this day

RETREAT EXPERIENCE

Its been four years since I had my first retreat. My retreat experience this year is much more better than the last retreat I had. Our retreat theme this year is “Live a Life of Love”. Our retreat is more about respect. The speaker inform us why we should respect each other, for example, showing respect to others is like showing respect to God

We had a sharing activity at night, most of my classmates share their problems in their families that they have. The sharing make us close to each other and maybe with that sharing we can help each other to solve our problems in life.

That retreat experience lets me know why should I respect and love my family, my friends, and also my self. It also gives me information the true meaning of love for a girlfriend and how to prepare to have it.

LIFE VERSE

Proverbs 1:10
My son if sinners entice you, do not give in to them
Proverbs 1:15
            My son do not go along with them, do not set foot on thir paths;

I picked these two bible verses because somehow I could relate to those verses. I have friends that liquor and smoke cigarettes. They told me to join them to drink liquor and smoke smoke cigarette. I told them I will not set foot on my paths and I don’t want to die sooner. I asked them why didn’t they stop on what they were doing. Then they realized that I was right because their parents caught them smoking cigarettes. We should not be influenced by others in a bad way.

WORSHIP

I’ve got the definition of worship at Merriam – Webster dictionary and it says there that worship is a form of religious practice with its creed and ritual. My favorite part of the mass is the gospel reading. Gospel reading is based on people’s experiences that have a lots of message.  I attended a mass last October 1, 2013, Tuesday, at Christ the king along E. Rodriguez Sr. Avenue. The priest there gave an example of a group of friend and some of them are not paying attention to the mass, the priest said that attending a mass is for praying, asking forgiveness, and worshiping God not for some other interest for a friend or to be with your friends and just to say that you attend the mass. When I attend a mass I’ll make sure I will focus on the words of God.

What is worship? Worship is the interior reverence and homage offered to the Divine majesty through words and actions in public ritual ;It is also same with praise, honor and to adore God. He does not need our worship but we must worship but we must worship him for it is our primary duty and it is our response to God for all the good things He has done to us.
Mass is known for the highest form of worship. When I attended the mass, I really payed attention and listened to the holy gospel or scripture to feel the words that God wanted to share to us listeners for us to realize and learn something from the gospel. The memorable line I remembered on the reading was what the apostles ordered to God,"Increase our faith". then God answered them and even compared to the growth of a mustard seed. It came from the book of Paul. Then, the priest discussed more about faith. He told us that in believing and adoring God we need to have strong faith to God. He also explained how we can strengthen our faith as the time goes by, no matter what. The priest also emphasized how God is powerful and almighty.

I learned a lot from the message during the mass. It really means a lot to me, it adds to my knowledge and wisdom about God. It helped me realized to be faithful to God always because He is the one and only creator and savior.
"Live a life with God"

During our Retreat at Capuchin Retreat Center, Batangas last September 18-19, 2013 was a memorable experience and renewal of faith to God. We had many activities and had fun bonding, all of it was worth of our time. When we had our first session , I was really excited and looking forward for all the activities we`ll do that day. The last activity we did was sharing of experience about the topic. Many of us became emotional and felt the spirit of God in our hearts, we all realized the importance of life to each one of us.

It gave us wisdom and knowledge about how God became part or has a big role to our lives because He gauve us His son to sacrifice for our sins. I really felt those activities , I`ve learned a lot specially according to living life with God. I also learned the pure and everlasting love of God to us that He`s willing to forgive and sacrifice for us.
It was tiring yet so fun and fulfilling day, then on the next day we had bonding with other fourth year students by having some picture takings, having conversations and of course we all prayed together for all the guidance and salvation of God.

When we had another sessions with the pastor and during that day we talked about pure love of God and to other people. We all became excited and attentive to the topic because the speaker discussed about love, well, many of us can relate to that topic specially those who had experiences. We also did some worksheets and paper activities to answer for example, messages to our future mate and future daughter or son.
In that activity,I learned that true love waits and it will come in God`s time. And to keep my body and dignity pure because it`s God`s body too, so the speaker told us to keep our bodies clean and pure.

After that activity we took a break and then wrote letters for our parents to gave them thanks that they let us attend the Retreat. I learned the importance of living a life with the guidance of God because if you believe in Him, everything you will do, you`ll do it with Him and let His plans be. I also learned that being pure is important in God`s eye. And all of these realizations and learning can be applied on our lives and will stay with us for forever.

"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own". - Matthew 6:34

I chose this bible verse because it really suits my values and philosophy in life because as a teenager nowadays, I worry too much on many things around me.

They say that worrying too much won`t help because it only stressed you for many things such as problems you won`t be able to solve, and worst it becomes anxiety or stress.
For me, Prayer can help us from worrying too much of stuffs because I believe that communicating with God can lessen our worries for God has plans for us and He knows what to do with us.

This Bible verse always reminds me, not to worry about what will going to happen tomorrow for tomorrow will worry itself and that lift it up to God.
Let us God manage on things because He got this.

If you believe on God, you`ll stay calm and let God do these. But, some of us can`t prevent worrying because of doubts and fears. Instead of worries and fears have faith in God by believing His promises, by relying on His strengths,
by leaving our lives on His hands, by leaving burdens on His care and by trusting Him for all our needs.

Then stop worrying about tomorrow and Choose Jesus rather than your fears, leave what makes you afraid on His mighty hands.
This verse always inspires me to keep life going and lift it up to God for He has plans and never leave our side and will guide our lives. So, I learned not to worry too much but instead pray for it.
