MATERIALS:
Canvass
White Paint
Poster paints
Needle and Strings
Rod
Paintbrush
METHOD:
Step 1:
If your canvas is too thin, it is recomended to paint it with white paint first. Once it's dry, sew the edges (top and bottom) one inch.
Step 2:
Once you're done, think of the theme of your painting and start drafting on the canvas.
Step 3:
Now, put colors and life to it! Use different colors of poster paints and brushes and start decorating.
Step 4:
Put the rod into place (on the top and the bottom. That's why we sew the canvas) and hung it to a wall.
PERSONAL EXPERIENCES WITH THE LEARNING SOCIETY
When I was young, I never aced art. When I was elected as the leader of a group in AP for a 'canvas-mural making' I was unsure I'm of some help.
My artist is Agarpao and he took the responsibility of drawing the draft on the canvas. Here's a quick intro by the way: We bought a thin canvass so I had to buy a white paint and put it on the canvas to make it thicker and to avoid the paint from spreading on the canvas.
So, we had this theme of "Water as a source of life" and we act on the project. You can see the half-finished paint here.
We had so much fun doing the project and I was happy because I was able to make everyone work, giving them the freedom to paint. After all, it's better to do it with your groupmates than to take all the responsibilities and throw back the accusations to them if it you can't do it.
